How to use this tool

Worked example
Script or article = Hello world., Reading words per minute = 200, Speaking words per minute = 120.
Words = 2.00 · Reading time = 0.60 seconds · Speaking time = 1.00 seconds.
These example values are illustrative.
Interpreting the result
Time a rehearsal of one representative paragraph and adjust speaking speed. Add separate time for slides, questions and audience interaction.
Assumptions and limitations
Speeds are editable words per minute. Pauses, technical vocabulary and delivery style affect actual duration.
Will pauses appear in my estimate?
Lower the speaking speed to account for pauses and demonstrations. Rehearsal gives a more reliable duration.
